Rex is made by a very small team, so support runs through one address: rexstudyapp@gmail.com. We read everything and aim to reply within two business days. Reports of harmful published content are reviewed within 24 hours, ahead of everything else.

Getting in touch

Please do not send passwords, API keys, or anything you would not want in an email. We will never ask you for your password.

Common questions

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password? and enter your account email. If the reset message does not arrive, check your spam folder first, then email us. If you originally signed up with Sign in with Apple or Google, you do not have a Rex password: use that same button to sign back in.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are sold and renewed by Apple, not by us, so they are cancelled in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep Pro until then.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled entirely by Apple under its own policy, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We are not able to issue them ourselves. If something in Rex went wrong and cost you a subscription period, tell us anyway, because we would like to fix it.

I paid, but Pro is not showing up

Open the Pro screen in the app and tap Restore purchases at the bottom, making sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still does not appear, email us with the date of purchase and we will look it up.

I hit my daily AI limit

Every plan, including the free one, has a daily allowance for tutor use. Reaching it pauses the tutor until the period resets. It never touches your boards, notes, or recordings, and nothing is deleted. The current limits are shown in the app.

I deleted a board or a recording by accident

Deleted boards and recordings sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days before they go for good. Open it from the + menu on your home screen and restore the item from there.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open the Profile tab and tap Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and everything in it, and cannot be undone. Deleting the app from your device does not delete your account on our servers. If you cannot reach the in-app option, email us from the address on the account and we will handle it.

Which devices does Rex run on?

iPhone, iPad and Mac, from the App Store, on one account. There is no Android app. Dictation and read aloud run on your device rather than on our servers, so those features need a device with enough free storage for the voice models.

Can I use my own AI model?

Yes. Connect an OpenRouter account from the Profile tab, under LLM Provider, and the tutor answers through a provider you choose and pay for. See Section 10 of the Privacy Policy for what that changes about where your messages go.

What you want to report	Where it goes
A published chart that breaks the rules	Open the chart's menu in the app and choose Report. Reviewed within 24 hours. See the Community Guidelines.
Someone harassing you on a shared board	Remove their access, then email us with the account details.
A copyright claim	Use the formal process in the Copyright & DMCA Policy. A takedown notice has legal requirements an in-app report does not capture.
A security vulnerability	Email us with the details and please give us a chance to fix it before publishing. We will not pursue researchers who report in good faith.
A chart of yours that was removed	Email us with the chart title to appeal. See Appeals.

You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email rexstudyapp@gmail.com from the address on your account and say which you want. We respond within the timeframes set out in the Privacy Policy, which also covers your rights in California, the EEA and the UK.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it promptly. See Children's Privacy in the Privacy Policy.

What support cannot do

Rex is a study tool, not a professional service. We cannot check your homework for you, tell you whether an answer the tutor gave is correct for your course, or advise you on medical, legal, or financial questions. The tutor can be wrong, and important work should always be checked against your own course material.

Building charts

If your question is about authoring a chart rather than using the app, the Chart Docs cover the format, the editable-variable contract, and the lint rules, and the starter template is a minimal valid chart to copy. Email us if something in the docs is wrong or missing.
